Published on 9th October 2008 in Ents
Howden Live is pleased to welcome back Snake Davis and The Suspicions, the ultimate northern soul band - a band who created one of the best-ever nights of musical entertainment at the Shire Hall in Howden on their previous visit.
They will again host a very rare outing for a band who play unstoppable Motown dance music like no one else this side of the Atlantic.
Snake Davis is well established as one of the UK's leading saxophonists. He is in demand from the biggest names on the British popular music scene, as well as visiting artists from overseas. He has recorded with numerous artists including M-People, Lisa Stansfield, Ray Charles, Tom Jones, Culture Club, Spice Girls and George Michael. He has also played live with the Eurythmics, Lisa Stansfield, Swing Out Sister, Ray Charles, Boy George and Sister Sledge.
Twenty years ago, in the student bar of Leeds Polytechnic, "Snake Davis and his Alligator Shoes" were born.
The passing years have scattered the individual band members to various parts of the world but the nucleus of, Snake, bass man 'Dangerous' Dave Bowie and guitarist, Mark Cresswell, come together every year or so to back visiting American soul stars and to create the magic that is The Suspicions.
