Top venue with yet more live music

Published on 11th September 2008 in Ents

Live music returned to The Goods Office on Friday, September 5 for the start of a new monthly night of live music.

The evening got off to a great start when local duo Luke Bottomley and Jordan Gertch entertained their audience with a short set of indie classics that left the crowd wanting more.

Next up were Goole band 'The Kansas City Royals' who turned up the tempo with a set of their own songs which had the attention of the crowd from start to finish.Next to take to the stage were 'The Beaus' who had made the short journey from Doncaster.

The band certainly did not disappoint, playing a rousing set that included their upcoming single 'Clockwatching' .By the time 'The Beaus' had left the stage they had worked the crowd into a frenzy, which was just as well because headline act 'Velvet Star' took hold of the crowd with Sam Garners' explosive guitar riffs and Danny Jones' strong vocals performing their own brand of rock. This included the title track of their recent 'Dirty Girl' EP.At the end of the night the crowd who had braved the elements to turn out in force at The Goods Office certainly didn't leave disappointed.
