Snaithfest 10 approaching

The weekend of Friday to Sunday, August 29 to 31, sees The Bell and Crown in Snaith celebrates a milestone occasion with the 10th annual Snaithfest music festival.

The three-day event run by strangerealitymusic (www.myspace.com/strangerealitymusic) takes place on Friday 29th, Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st and will feature some of the finest artists in the north of England. 

Friday night will be headlined by Sheffield's Silent Film Project (www.myspace.com/asilentfilmproject), a super-tight, hard-gigging indie rock band who have recently supported Dirty Pretty Things and are attracting positive industry attention.

Also playing are Kal-Els Cape (www.myspace.com/kalelscape1), one of Hull's most respected indie quartets, and New Vinyl (www.myspace/newvinyl1) of Wakefield, who bring a sound reminiscent of Oasis and The Stone Roses. 

Saturday afternoon is jam session/open mic, which gives the opportunity for local bands and artists to play short featured sets. To book a slot, please contact Chris Miley at c_miley@hotmail.com.

Saturday evening features three bands wo have proven themselves particular favourites at previous Snaithfests: Derby's The James Warner Prophecies (www.myspace.com/thejameswarnerprophecies) headline with their unique brand of indie-folk, and are ably supported by the iconic rock band Boycott (www.myspace.com/boycottband08) of Leeds and the incredible talent of local sisters Emily, Charlotte and Eleanor Harding and their jazz/folk/pop group The Neumes (www.myspace.com/ bandtheneumes). 

Sunday evening is a very special version of The Acoustic Night, with sets from some incredible featured artists, plus opportunities for open-mic performers. 

Ian Wallace, Holly Taymar, David Ward Maclean and Joe Solo have all proven particularly popular at previous events, and we are delighted to be able to showcase such a high calibre of musicians on the same bill in what promises to be a truly memorable night.

Friday and Saturday evening shows begin at 8pm, the Sunday evening acoustic show will begin at 6.30pm, and the Saturday afternoon session will run from 2pm to 6pm.
