Breathing space for Shire Hall

Published on 12th June 2008 in Ents

The aptly-named Breathing Space will provide the entertainment at Howden Live's final summer musical event.

The popular band will take to the stage on Saturday, June 21 at the the historic Shire Hall in Howden's Market Place.

Breathing Space started life as a solo-album project by Iain Jennings, ex-keyboard wizard and co-songwriter with rockers Mostly Autumn.

He eventually put together his own touring band, retaining Mostly Autumn's backing singer Olivia Sparnenn as lead vocalist for the new venture.

Breathing Space are not known for rock 'n' roll excess, bravado or swagger, but what they do deliver is tight, refined, mainstream pop music with a hint of rock and a touch of modern dance music.

Their songs are cleverly-crafted opuses with elements of Pink Floyd and Yes. In order to achieve this sound, Jennings has surrounded himself with musicians of immense calibre who are able to deliver on his grand designs.

Breathing Space are touring on the back of their new album, Coming Up For Air.

Tickets for the show are £6 each and are available from Touchwood Homecare at 2 Market Place in Howden. Call: 01430 431535

They are also avaialble at DT's Rockshop at 59 Pasture Road, Goole. Call: 01405 767282.

Tickets can also be booked on the website: www.howden-live.com.

Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start. Doors close at 8.15pm.

Breathing Space will be this summer's final Howden Live act. 12-06-69 SU.
