Gate launces season of world music

Published on 29th May 2008 in Ents

It's that time of year again when The Gate launches its World of Music season. The three shows this season feature powerhouse Irish dance-music, Scandinavian folk tunes and Zimbabwean urban sounds; hopefully something for every taste.

The first show this Saturday sees the innovative harping of Máire Ní Chathasaigh, the Irish traditional Musician of the Year 2001, and the astonishing virtuosity and versatility of English guitar wizard Chris Newman.

For a chance to experience the sounds of Irish folk music, why not come along to Goole this Saturday and enjoy an evening of top class entertainment.

Tickets are £7 or £5 from Goole Town Council, Gladstone Terrace or on the door.

For more information about this or any other shows on at The Gate visit the website www.thegategoole.com.
