Organisers of the Howden Rockfest have secured more bands to perform at the festival which takes place on June 14 on the Ashes Playing Field.
Fake Festivals who are based in Owston Ferry have added some extra bands to the line up which sees Arctic Monkeys tribute Antarctic Monkeys, Coldplay tribute Coldplace and Greenday tribute Basketcase perform inside a marquee on the playing field.
The support band line up has been finalised and now a total of 8 bands will be performing on the day. The band with the honour of opening the festival are '2 Fat 2 Thin' who are all from Howden and will be performing a set of rock covers, then 'Recruitment 46' will take to the stage and perform their set followed by 'Ram Raid' who will perform classic Indie Covers. Local band 'The Element' will be on next performing their storming set which has seen them break out of the local scene and perform further a field. After them will be 'Trip Manhatton' who have a fantastic female vocalist and they will be performing some classic covers ranging from the 70s right up to modern day. After the support bands have performed, the tribute bands will take to the stage, first to perform will be the 'Antarctic Monkeys', followed by 'Coldplace' and then 'Basketcase' will finish off the festival with their rock set tribute to US band Greenday.
Greenday tribute lead singer Kris Edwards said: "Headlining Howden is an honour for Basketcase as we are pretty local and it will feel like a home gig. We have been busy rehearsing for the up coming festivals and by the time we hit Howden we should be ready for the crowds and the atmosphere. Expect to see the full Greenday make up and stage presence and a set list that will blow you away, I can't wait."
