Music accordingly

Published on 10th April 2008 in Ents

Members of accordion clubs from all over Yorkshire will congregate at Howden Shire Hall on Tuesday, April 15 for an evening of music and fun.

This is the second meeting the accordion club has had and the first one, which took place at the Shire Hall last year, saw over 200 people turn out, raising £325 for Cancer Research.

There is a wide cross-section of artists playing this year - including the world-famous Pearl Fawcett-Adriano, Harry Hussey and Sam Pirt. Harry Hussey, one of the top accordionists in England, has a large selection of jazz in his repertoire and will play any tune you can think of.

Local, Sam Pirt from Gilberdyke, will also be performing, taking a break from travelling the world playing continental folk songs.

Other guest include Ray Gallagher and The Hayriders from Beverley, Colin Milner and Phil Taylor and Sheena Beck, making this a fantastic entertaining evening.

There will be a free buffet and tea and coffee on sale as well as a bar. Doors open at 4pm for a get together and a chance for people to have a chat and a drink.

Call Harry Kipling, 01430 860300, to order tickets.
