Live is back

The Bell and Crown's famous acoustic night returns to Snaith this month.
As well as an exciting lineup of artists there will be, as always, the opportunity for open mic performers to get up and play a few tunes.
On Sunday, February 24, the pub will welcome Leo Brazil, David Ward Maclean and Holly Taymar. Leo is a prolific singer-songwriter based in Huddersfield. He has released several immaculately self-produced albums of eclectic uplifting off-the-wall pop, playing many of the instruments himself and using arrangements and melodies which are reminiscent of Beck at the very top of his game.
David makes his third appearance at the Bell and Crown - his most recent was as support for the USA-touring James Apollo Band in December. A thoroughly entertaining musical raconteur and master of beautiful and often witty lyrics, he is also a very under-rated guitarist.
Like Leo, Holly makes her Bell and Crown debut here, but she is no newcomer to the acoustic touring circuit, and is a regular contributor to the burgeoning York roots music scene. Her current album Before I Know is out now.
Open-mic spots will be available on the night, so if you fancy playing, email c_miley@hotmail.com or sign up at the sound desk from 7pm on the night. The live music begins with a set from Leo Brazil at 8pm, and entry is free! The Bell and Crown is in Market Place, Snaith.
