Boogie call goes out to Howden

Published on 20th December 2007 in Ents

Christmas comes early to the Shire Hall on Saturday with one of the best blues and rock bands around.

Music-lovers are encouraged to 'shake their bootie' when the Rob Donnelly Band come to town.

Well known throughout Yorkshire for his prolific solo performances, Rob plays on December 22 with his band, who are: Dan Burnett - keyboards, harmonica and vocals, Frank Mizen - bass and Dan Mizen. Rob Donnelly plays guitar and vocals.

Mark Rogers, of Howden Live, said: "In a musical world seemingly dominated by covers and tribute bands, it is a tremendous pleasure to welcome this band to the Shire Hall.

"While paying homage to the past, they have their feet firmly planted in the present, playing both original material and an extensive set of blues standards.

"Originally formed in 1995 with a quality set of albums behind them, their new album Boogie In The Voodoo Longe is a clear statement of intent, not just a blues band but a night out of rocking boogie to boot!

"See the Howden Live year out on a positive high - come along and shake your bootie."
