Local talent plays on

Published on 27th September 2007 in Ents

The run of local talent on offer at the Goods Office in Goole is set to continue tomorrow night (Friday), when indie rock band The Kansas City Royles take to the stage.

The band - made up of local lads Mike West on rhythm guitar and vocals, Joe Hodgson on bass guitar and vocals, Martin Taylor on lead guitar and vocals, and Dave Risebury on drums - has worked hard to create a unique indie rock and roll sound that is born out of an eclectic mix of influences, both old and new, that include The Beatles, The Kings of Leon, The Coral and Beck.

And the band won't be going it alone on Friday night, as a great range of local support will be on offer, including Goods Office favourite Pete Donnelly, as well as young musician Jamie Bunclark, who played his first-ever gig at the Goods Office last month.

Also gracing the stage throughout the evening will be Al Suggitt, who started out playing in hard-core punk and metal bands when he was just 15, but developed a more acoustic style as he grew older, writing his own songs and singing his own words.

Chris Williams, of Goods Office Live, said: "This gig is an example of how committed we are to local musicians. It's also really nice to see great guys like Pete and Al, who enjoy playing here so much and keep coming back again and again.

"We're really looking forward to presenting the Kansas City Royles, it should be a great night."

The gig starts at 8pm tomorrow evening, and entry costs £2 on the door.
