Down by the Riverside
Goole Town Council are pleased to announce this year's line-up for their ever-popular summer concerts.
As always the events will take place in the beautiful setting of Riverside Gardens, off Hook Road. Each concert will run from 2pm to 4pm and is absolutely free to come along to.
Sunday, July 29: Creswell Collier Band. This band has performed in front of Royalty, made several records, played on television and radio, but today they launch the season for us. This 25-piece band will perform some traditional brass band sounds as well as a few surprise numbers (03-08-19 GT).
Sunday, August 5: Markham Main Colliery Band. Founded in 1925, this band has gone from strength to strength despite the closure of the colliery. Performances include the Royal Albert Hall - London, Belle Vue - Manchester and the Edinburgh Festival.
Sunday August 12: The Pierrotters. Meet Uncle Tacko, Boy Gacko, Shabby Shabacko, McFacko and Smiley Smacko, the wonderfully madcapped crooners. Today we are also delighted to offer ou ryounger audience the chance to get creative with some arts activities on offer.
