Ageing boy band in romp of a comedy

Published on 14th June 2007 in Ents

What do you get when you throw together three middle-age beer-swilling couch potatoes, a celebrity love rival and several pairs of tight fitting trousers?

A fantastic romp of a comedy, that's what!

Wilde Boyz, directed by acclaimed artistic director John Godber and penned by Gordon Steel, comes to Hull Truck Theatre on July 5, running until July 28, and promises to be the summer 'gig' that everyone will be talking about.

The play is centred around the three Wilde brothers Harry, Cloughie and Billy, and the mayhem kicks off when Harry's wife Janice has her head turned by ex-fireman-turned-celebrity Bobby Diamond, who is a finalist on television's Fame Factor.

Boy band fame

Harry is not rich and not famous, but the bright lights of stardom beckon when he decides to play his love rival at his own game, heading up Wilde Boyz, the boy band to end all boy bands.

Get ready to rumble from July 5, as the brothers pull out all the stops to make this an evening you'll never forget.

The Wilde Boyz, played by Robert Hudson, James Hornsby and Graham Martin, strut their stuff and prepare for the bright lights of fame and fortune in the cut-and-thrust celebrity world.

Tickets

Ticket prices range from £6 to £15.50, and can by booked by calling the Hull Truck Theatre box office on 01482 323638.

Look out for a competition to win a pair of tickets in next week's Goole Times/Selby Post. (14-06-69 SU)
